Year 3 sees the children move from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2 in a fun and exciting year. The children will be taught to become more independent, given more responsibility and will be expected to take a larger role in their own learning.
We will cover a variety of topics and texts as we progress through the year. In English, we will learn through the Power of Reading scheme, covering a range of writing genres and techniques (including poetry, myths and legends, fiction and non-fiction) through a variety of thrilling and interesting books. Our cross-curricular Topic work (which covers Science, History, Geography; DT and Computing) will have us exploring, among other things, the human body; scavengers and settlers; habitats and electricity. In Maths, we will build on the skills and knowledge acquired during Key Stage 1, furthering and deepening our knowledge.
