St Marys Services
SUNDAY
10.00am This is a modern language Eucharist service with a lively feel aimed at families. It will usually last under an hour. There are songs, prayers and a short talk which seeks to enage children and adults alike. Sunday school is available for all children from Nursery upwards and a sound proof room (the Cromwell Room) for the smaller and noisier members of the congregation.
6pm Caritas is a Eucharist service, the emphasis of which will be on prayerfulness and reflection. There will be hymns and a sermon. This service is designed for those who find Sunday mornings a bit too boisterous. In addition, there are sometimes additional services around particular festivals. For example, Compline during Advent, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week etc.

Board of Governors

St Mary’s is a voluntary aided Church of England Primary School, part of the Church’s mission of Service to the community in Putney.

The school caters for boys and girls between the ages of 3+ and 11+, from the Nursery and Reception classes through years 1 to 6.

As a Church of England school it seeks to bring together home, school and community to provide a high quality education within an inclusive and nuturing Christian community.

The school functions under the auspices of the Southwark Diocesan Board for Education, but is directly controlled by a Governing Body consisting of people appointed by Putney Parochial Church Council, the Southwark Diocesan Board for Education and the London Borough of Wandsworth.

The Governors own, maintain and improve the school buildings. They employ the staff and are also responsible for the general direction of the conduct and the curriculum of the school.

Wandsworth Borough Council, the local education authority, is responsible for providing the school budget.

The Governors' Fund
The Governors have to insure and maintain the building, parents are also asked to give a contribution towards the actual cost of payments by the Governors, currently at a level of £35 per child per year (or £14 if part time Nursery pupil).
