Friends of St. Mary’s School

St. Mary’s Church of England Primary School has a very active and supportive parent body who are known as Friends of St. Mary’s School – or more simply FoSMS!

What does FoSMS do?

FoSMS organises a wide variety of fundraising events throughout the school year to help fund extra resources and equipment for the school, and works collaboratively on projects that help to enhance the children’s experiences here at St. Mary’s.

FoSMS also helps to foster relationships between parents and governors, school staff, and others associated with the school, thereby contributing to the great sense of school community which we are so proud of.

Every parent who has a child at the school is automatically a member of FoSMS, but membership is also open to parents who children have left the school, ex-pupils and ex-members of staff who wish to become or remain a member of FoSMS as part of our Alumni body.

FoSMS is a registered charity (no. 277302), based at the same address as the school. It is run in accordance with its constitution, as last amended in 2022 (see link below).

How can I get involved?

All FoSMS events are organised and run by volunteers, coordinated by the FoSMS Committee and the network of Class Reps.

We encourage all parents to get involved in supporting FoSMS in whatever capacity they are able to, whether by attending events, helping organise events, or perhaps offering practical help or specialist skills – if you would like to discuss how you can get involved, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
